HAMBURG, N.Y. – Nate McMurray, the Democratic and Working Families Party candidate in New York’s 27th Congressional District has been endorsed by New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli. McMurray is running against incumbent Chris Collins, who was indicted earlier this year for insider trading and lying to the FBI.
McMurray’s campaign continues to build momentum with less than a month to go. This endorsement follows the campaign releasing an internal poll that showed the race to be tied and reporting fundraising nearly half a million dollars in the last quarter.
“Corruption has no place in politics and it certainly has no place in Congress, so I am excited to support Nate McMurray in his election. It is completely unacceptable that someone indicted for this severe a crime would continue to run for office. The people of Western New York deserve better, and Nate McMurray will be an honest and devoted representative in Congress,” said Comptroller DiNapoli.
“I am proud to have Comptroller DiNapoli’s support. The writing is on the wall for Chris Collins – and people across the state and the country are taking note. New Yorkers are fed up with corruption and we deserve a lot better than a crooked Congressman. I am ready to be a leader Western New York can count on to bring accountable leadership to Congress,” said McMurray.
